Budget Coach Stories
Though signing up to serve others, Budget Coaches-in-Training are personally impacted by the training course material. Read to learn more!
I have to admit that this course is nothing like I had envisioned - more ministry and more
demanding than I expected. It makes you go deep. I have learned a lot, refreshing my
memory from where I started this journey in the 1980's with a little-known radio program.
I recently retired, but I now realize that my spiritual gift is that of a giver. I have always
interpreted that as time and resources; I now see that I am also an "earner. I have taken a
full-time job not because of personal needs, but in order to "earn" more for the kingdom.
Faithfully handling God's money is a ministry. It is important to consult God's wisdom and
the Spirit’s guidance first and foremost; this is a shift in my thinking.

I began the course with many personal convictions (in my head & heart) about managing finances God's Way. However, I was unsure how to communicate these convictions to others and pass on the necessary practical tools.
On a scale from 1 to 10, I progressed from 2 or 3 (inadequate) to 7 or 8 (adequate)! I know Jesus will help me grow even more as I serve as budget coach. Praise Him!
It was a challenge and a bit of a struggle to keep up with the homework, but I learned much and was greatly humbled. God worked to remove pride and self-centeredness from my heart, making me more like His humble Son, Jesus. I can be spent and used up for His Glory. Hallelujah!

The Budget Coach Training Course has been a blessing to me to learn about God's words on biblical stewardship principles and their true-life applications. It helped me become more rooted in God's truth, convicting me to become a better steward of what God has entrusted me. It also gave me the confidence, with the structure and tools to be able to help others to become better stewards.
Each day I'm submitting everything to God, committing myself to be a better steward for eternal purposes. Through budget coaching, I want to pass on the legacy to teach others biblical stewardship principles, helping them become better stewards. The goal isn’t to be able to spend freely but to be positioned so that God can spend us freely.
There is a lot of work packed into the 8 weeks training course, but our trainer has been great, encouraging me to help get through. It has helped me to serve only one Master: our Lord Jesus Christ.

Keyla Drake, a participant in the Budget Coach Training Course
“I came into it thinking I had a solid grasp of biblical budgeting, especially after getting out of debt. What I learned went beyond my expectations, impacting my views on money, contentment, generosity, and legacy. My mindset has shifted. I now see money as something to steward faithfully for God’s glory. I used to think that as long as I gave my 10% to the church, I was doing enough. Now I know that God doesn’t just want a portion—He wants my entire life to reflect faithful management of His resources. It is now a priority to give more intentionally to causes that align with spreading the Gospel, like buying Bibles for places like Malawi,” Seek first the Kingdom of God is not just a familiar verse but a guiding principle for my life. Being trained as a Crown Budget Coach has made a lasting impact on my faith and finances.
